One-to-One Psychotherapy, Shaped Around You
Perhaps you have spent years appearing capable while quietly struggling underneath.
You may be exhausted from overthinking, overwhelmed by feelings that seem too big or carrying the effects of experiences you were expected simply to “get over”. Perhaps you have become so accustomed to adapting, masking or putting other people first that you are no longer quite sure what you need.
One-to-one psychotherapy offers a private, compassionate space in which you can begin to make sense of what you are carrying — without judgement, pressure or any expectation that you should already have the answers.
You do not need to arrive with the right words. You can begin exactly where you are.
Warmth, Trust and Professional Care
My approach is person-centred, which means that our work is shaped around you: your experiences, your priorities and your pace.
My core training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, while my wider practice is informed by compassion-focused, relational and neurodiversity-affirming approaches. We will explore only what feels relevant and manageable, within a therapeutic relationship that is warm, collaborative and appropriately boundaried.
BACP registration and Continuing Development
For nine years, Magenta Owl Psychotherapy has retained BACP registered membership, which necessitates adherence to clear guidelines for practice.
Regularly undertaking CPD is one aspect of this; both online and in-person; to support ongoing development and informed practice methods.
Ethical, accountable Practice
Magenta Owl Psychotherapy adheres to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, and appropriate indemnity insurance is held at all times while practicing.
This ensures all those who access Magenta Owl services can feel secure in the knowledge they are protected, and have a clear pathway to follow in the event of any dissatisfaction.
Confidentiality and Safeguarding
The work done within therapy is confidential, with relevant notes taken and stored in alignment with GDPR legislation. We will adhere to our privacy agreement, except for in rare instances as outlined in our Privacy Notice.
Confidentiality has exceptions including the risk of self-harm or harm to others, as our Privacy Notice concisely and clearly explains.
Data Protection and record keeping
Please refer to our full policy to learn how data is processed and handled by Magenta Owl Psychotherapy.
Adult records are retained for seven years following completion of the therapy journey. No personally identifying details are kept alongside practice notes or session records.
Could this be your space?
Finding the right therapist is a personal decision. You may want to ask questions, tell me a little about what is bringing you to therapy or simply gain a sense of whether working together might feel right.
Making an initial enquiry does not commit you to beginning therapy. It is simply a first conversation.
