One-to-one therapy

Our individual therapy sessions are tailored using elements of NLP, CBT, ACT and person-centred counselling. Each session focuses on your unique goals and the positive changes you wish to implement in your life.

Finding your way to authentic living

Many of our clients are beginning to realise that their current family dynamics are unhealthy and need to be addressed.  They may be considering inner-child work... but are perhaps uncertain how to begin this.  They may wish to embark upon a journaling practice, yet feel unsure where to start.  We, at Magenta Owl Psychotherapy, have walked the path of pain and struggle, and fully understand that - while attachment styles form early - the human brain is both adaptable and resilient.  We offer a gentle introduction to therapy, and to a number of self-help techniques, prioritising guiding you safely every step of the way.  Our primary aim is to encourage your growth without rushing, as you steadily build your own personal power.

Who will benefit most?

We support individuals - particularly adult daughters, since this is our specific niche - who are recognising unhealthy family dynamics and seeking to address them.  If you're considering separation from (or reduced contact with) difficult family members, then inner-child work is one place to start... building your strength from within prior to loosening the reins.  Learning to set and maintain firm boundaries is another vital component of the work ahead.

In addition to utilising the tools and exercises best suited to you, we offer guidance around 'writing to heal' and assist with confidence-building as you navigate unfamiliar territory.  We will work at your pace, fostering independence and a return to authentic living.

Start your growth itinerary

A useful starting point is constructing a 'growth itinerary'. This process helps you explore your hopes and fears, build a timeline of impactful events, and begin reframing your role in past scenarios. We gently address wounds left by parents and guide you in setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, especially when ongoing harm is present.
